Recently, our KS1 children enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to the Captain Cook Museum in Marton, where they had the opportunity to bring their History learning to life.
A Huge Thank You to Thornton Log Company
We would like to extend a huge thank you to David and Liam from Thornton Log Company for their incredibly generous donation of logs for our new Forest School area. These wonderful logs will play an important role in creating an engaging and exciting outdoor learning environment for our children, providing endless opportunities for exploration, imaginative play, problem-solving and learning in nature. Forest School experiences encourage curiosity, creativity and resilience, helping children develop valuable skills while enjoying the outdoors.
Year 5 Residential: A Journey of Faith, Reflection and Fun
The children had a wonderful first day as they settled into their residential experience. They were introduced to the Scripture themes that would guide their week: the stories of Zacchaeus and the Road to Emmaus. These inspiring Gospel accounts encouraged pupils to reflect on their faith and the people they wished to keep in their thoughts and prayers during their time away.
St Bede’s Begins Its Rosary Challenge This October
October is a special month in the Catholic Church as we celebrate the Month of the Rosary, and at St Bede’s Catholic Primary School, our pupils have embarked on a meaningful Rosary Challenge to deepen their faith and grow closer to Jesus through the example of Mary.
Brewing Kindness for Macmillan Cancer Support
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, attended and supported our recent Macmillan Coffee Morning. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our families, friends and wider community, the event was a fantastic success. It was wonderful to welcome so many members of our school and parish community to come together in support of such an important cause. The morning was filled with kindness, conversation and community spirit, making it a truly special occasion for everyone involved.
Year 2 Bring Their ‘Secret Garden’ Dance to Life
Year 2 pupils at St Bede’s Catholic Primary School have been busy exploring their exciting ‘Secret Garden’ dance as part of their dance lessons. The children have been developing their creativity and performance skills by learning how to create and link movements, work collaboratively with others, and keep in time with music using 8-count sequences.

Year 4 Pupils Begin Exciting Musical Journey with Durham Music Service
Pupils in Year 4 at St Bede's Catholic Primary School, Darlington, enjoyed a fantastic visit from Miss Howard of Durham Music Service, who introduced them to the violin and shared information about how they can begin learning this exciting instrument. During the visit, children had the opportunity to discover more about the violin, learn about the benefits of playing a musical instrument and hear about the opportunities available through Durham Music Service. Families who are interested in signing their child up for violin lessons can find full details by scanning the QR code shared in the school's photographs.
Pupils Learn How Mission Together Supports Communities Worldwide
On Monday, pupils at St Bede's Catholic Primary School, Darlington, welcomed Maria from Mission Together. Maria introduced the children to the charity and shared how it supports communities around the world. Pupils learned about the important work Mission Together carries out and how helping others can make a positive difference.
Exciting Autumn Term Club Programme
Pupils at St Bede’s Catholic Primary School in Darlington can look forward to a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities this term, as the school launches its Autumn Term clubs programme. With activities available across different age groups and phases of the school, the new programme offers children the chance to enjoy new experiences, develop valuable skills and spend time with friends outside the classroom.

St Bede’s Festival Brings the Community Together
St Bede’s Catholic Primary School in Darlington was delighted to welcome families, friends and members of the local community to this year’s Bede’s Festival, which proved to be a tremendous success. The event was extremely well attended, with visitors enjoying a wide range of activities, entertainment and fundraising opportunities throughout the day. It was wonderful to see the school community come together and create such a positive and vibrant atmosphere.
