Our Mission Statement - "Love one another as I have loved you." (John 13:34-35)

Welcome to our School website.  My name is Josie Wilson and I have had the privilege of being the Headteacher here at St Bede’s since September 2023, supported by Laura Cuff our Deputy Head.

Together, we have many years of collective experience in leading schools and in supporting teachers to provide the best learning experiences for the children in our care. Whilst at St Bede’s it is my aim to build upon the solid foundations laid by previous leaders here to work to create a school which is both a place of excellence for the children and a beacon within the community it serves.

We are a Catholic Academy, in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and a member of the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust. Our school building was opened by the Mayor of Darlington in October 1987 and we currently have 322 pupils on roll (Nursery to Year 6). Gospel values and Trust virtues underpin all aspects of school life at St Bede’s. Each and every child is valued, nurtured, loved and are at the centre of everything we do. St Bede’s has a wonderful and devoted team of staff that are highly skilled, compassionate and dedicated. Our Local Governing Body actively support the school. Together, we are committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning achieved through a combination of challenge, support, encouragement and praise to ensure that all of our children fulfil their true potential.

Our families are supported and welcomed into all aspects of school life. This website is designed to keep families informed of news and developments in school and to introduce new families to our school community.

If you would like to find out more about St Bede's visits are warmly welcomed.

Mrs Josie Wilson
