Our Eco Warriors planned and led a thoughtful and purposeful Eco Morning for the whole school community, guiding pupils through activities that deepened their understanding of stewardship and care for God’s creation.
The morning began with pupils taking part in the RSPB Bird Watch, where they gathered data, observed local species, and discussed the importance of protecting bird habitats within our community. This hands‑on experience encouraged children to recognise how small environmental changes can make a big difference.
Next, pupils enjoyed a sensory colour walk, working together to collect natural materials from the school grounds. These were used to create beautiful sensory bins, helping children explore textures, patterns, and colours found in nature. Throughout the activities, our Eco Warriors led moments of prayerful reflection, inviting everyone to consider the Catholic Social Teaching principle of stewardship and our shared responsibility to care for God’s world.
As the morning continued, children reflected on how spending time outdoors can support well‑being, calm, and mindfulness. To conclude the session, pupils created eye‑catching posters encouraging the school community to help the environment by reducing electricity use — especially by switching off lights during breaks, lunchtimes, and assemblies.
The Eco Morning provided a rich and meaningful opportunity for pupils to grow in faith, deepen their understanding of environmental responsibility, and take practical steps towards protecting our planet.
